We are very happy that our fruit wine Vir Fortis, r. 2017 received a 1* award at Great Taste 2020.

Great Taste is the largest and most trusted and rigorous food and drink award in the world. Food and beverage testing by a group of more than 500 experts. Great Taste are highly regarded seals of approval, a way to get honest, direct and unbiased feedback from chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers. Of the 12,000 registered products, less than a third of them won the award. This year, all registered fruit wines from around the world received at most 1*. And we were among them!

The color is dark red, the aroma of cherries in chocolate supplemented with vanilla and tobacco, the taste is full of stone fruit, almond kernels and with a sweet finish.”

Fortified with Calvados, matured for 10 years in an oak barrel. Heavy full port type.

It is a big challenge for every winery to create a custom-made wine for a private customer. We made this cuveé to order for friends from the Vir Fortis historical fencing group.

Bottled in Bord. Grand Cru bottles, DIAM 10 corks.

Only a few dozen bottles released for sale. So far, no one has managed to decipher the legend and collect the reward.

It’s definitely not for everyone. Possibility to order at: https://ovocinarhrehor.sk/…/ovocne-vino-vir-fortis-r-2017-…/
