DRY FEBRUARY…

DRY FEBRUARY…

It is definitely great—and beneficial for everyone’s health—to take a month without consuming alcohol. If you have decided to do so, stick with it and persevere! It’s somewhat amusing that I write this as a producer of alcoholic beverages who makes a living from their sale. I like to say: drink less, drink quality. This way, wine drinking can truly be healthy, and you can enjoy this wonderful beverage for a long time.

If you’ve committed to a month-long detox, consider complementing it with fresh juices from fruit and especially vegetables. For proper digestive function, it is important to maintain a healthy gut microbiome, which is supported by the consumption of live fruit vinegars. It doesn’t matter whether the vinegar is apple-based or made from other fruits—it must be live, meaning unpasteurized and free of preservatives.

Live fruit vinegars help support proper digestion and also have antiseptic properties.

For those for whom Dry February is about drinking dry wines, here is our selection of dry and semi-dry fruit wines.

It’s important to remember that if the acidity is high—or even extremely high, which is typical for wines made from real fruit—semi-dry wines may taste like dry, and some semi-sweet wines may taste like semi-dry fruit wines.
