FARMERS AND CRAFT MARKETS I.
FARMERS AND CRAFT MARKETS….
8 years ago we started organizing such markets with the aim of supporting honest primary producers, growers and artisans. And of course selling your own products. Today it is hugely desecrated and the markets are often mainly peddlers and peddlers. But it is always up to the organizer what quality he wants to offer. Romantic notions have faded away, but what remains is friendship. Between sellers, with the customer, with the organizers. They are often even family relationships.
Right now, almost all of our grower and crafter friends are not selling. Not that they are bored, their life is to work during the week and earn money on the weekend. All that remained was to do, without earning. Some may sell from home and to motivate the customer, they go down with the price. But going for dumping prices will cause them to be here even after the end of the measures, but with empty cellars and no money. They also have reduced support from the state, but that’s for another debate. Now, nothing against it, but hypermarkets have colossal sales. Why don’t they go down with the prices? I would like to say that when the ambulatory sales are allowed to work again, please do not ask these people for a discount. They will give it to you anyway. Like always. Let hypermarkets and tobacco concerns start giving discounts.
Why is ambulatory sales prohibited? If I have a stand with fast food as a fixed stand, I can sell, when I set up a stand/ambulatory sales/ I can’t. Sale outside, in the fresh air, from the customer, the seller is min. across the counter, i.e. 1 – 1.5 m. Not enough? I do not understand. None of the sellers will have a problem with masks, disinfection and I don’t know what else. The fear that people will gather is probably the only reason. I don’t know of another. But which seller has advice in front of the booth? They can be in front of a post office, bank, or shop. How many people grind in a day in a hypermarket? Much more than the market. And in a closed space. So let’s do the markets this way too. Without a program, buy and leave system and that’s it. We will definitely be sorry, because everyone liked to talk, meet, drink something, eat and so on.
Maybe these people are not interesting to the government, because what is 2% to them. They expect to go bankrupt. It bothers me, a lot. Love for the land, tradition, craft handed down for generations. Is this supposed to trickle down and should only the government of multinational concerns stay here?
In order not to end pessimistically, I now encounter a lot that friends will come and buy. And I know that often just to support. Even one local member of parliament came as one of the first, supported and furthermore says that after the end of the measures he himself will initiate the organization of some kind of farmer’s market so that these farmers and artisans can have a little fun. Thank you Adrián, as well as everyone else!!!!!
I don’t know where the relaxed support rules are. I know for sure that we can’t all change our business plan and start making disinfectant now.
No one is forcing anyone to go to the farmers and craft market. If it becomes legislatively possible, we will certainly organize the market again, and we will certainly welcome cooperation. Primary producers, if this concerns you, let us know in the message, we will be happy to give you space on the market, although of course we will give preference to those we already know. But many will have the opportunity and buyers will discover a new assortment.
